Virgin Valley High School Girls' Basketball Team Heads to State Tournament with Strong Record

The Virgin Valley High School Girls' Basketball team is making waves as they head to the state tournament this weekend, representing their school and community with pride and determination. After a stellar season filled with hard work, teamwork, and impressive victories, the Bulldogs are ready to compete for the state title.

The team has shown incredible resilience and skill throughout the season, finishing with an impressive 21 - 7 overall record. Their journey to the state tournament has been marked by thrilling games and memorable performances, building excitement among fans and supporters. Key players have demonstrated exceptional talent and leadership on the court, contributing to the team's dominant run.

The 2026 NIAA 3A Girls Basketball State Tournament is being held this weekend at Fernley High School. The tournament features four teams: the top two seeds from the Northern and Southern regions.

Participating Teams

  • Churchill County (Greenwave): Enters as the #1 seed from the North after defeating Fernley in the regional championship.
  • Virgin Valley (Bulldogs): Enters as the #1 seed from the South.
  • Fernley (Vaqueros): The tournament host and #2 seed from the North; they enter state on a strong run despite their regional final loss.
  • Boulder City (Eagles): Enters as the #2 seed from the South.

Digital tickets must be purchased through HomeTown Ticketing. If you cannot attend in person at  Fernley High School , games are typically streamed live on the NFHS Network
